Gary Galiher Filed One of the First Mesothelioma Lawsuits
We created this website to share with you the “Mesothelioma Knowledge” we have gained through representing mesothelioma families for over 30 years. Gary Galiher himself was one of the first lawyers in the country to file an asbestos related lawsuit in 1978.
As a result, Attorney Galiher was one of the first to investigate all of the issues involved in asbestos cases—from the ways in which individuals are exposed to asbestos to the companies who made and sold asbestos products to the latest treatments available for this devastating cancer. Decades ago, Attorney Galiher learned firsthand about asbestos companies by deposing company witnesses and learned from top medical doctors about mesothelioma and other lung diseases caused by asbestos.
Extensive Collection of Asbestos-Related Documents
Because of our involvement in the asbestos litigation for over 30 years, our firm has amassed one of the most significant collections of documents needed to develop and prove an asbestos case. We have documents related to the companies that manufactured and sold asbestos products. This includes documents related to the types of asbestos products that they sold to letters, reports, and correspondence that detail the knowledge they had – and hid – about the hazards of asbestos. Our library also includes original copies of landmark books detailing the hazards of asbestos.
One of the most unique aspects of our collection of records is the extensive database that details where asbestos products were used. It is often difficult for clients to remember when and where they may have been exposed to asbestos. Based on our experience and our database of information, we are able to help reconstruct their exposure and to identify the companies at fault in their case.
Our Unique Work with Medical Experts
Part of our role as attorneys representing mesothelioma victims is to understand the complex nature of this disease. In each case, we consult with medical experts who are leaders in the field of mesothelioma from the diagnosis to treatment of this aggressive cancer.
We have in our medical library thousands of medical journals and articles about asbestos-related diseases and mesothelioma. We have had the opportunity to talk with and interview many renowned cancer researchers, including Dr. Giovanni Gaudino. Dr. Gaudino, an Italian biochemist, has researched extensively into the causes and treatment of mesothelioma. He has conducted clinical trials in Italy on mesothelioma patients using new combinations of chemotherapy drugs in an effort to find the most effective drug combinations.
Records from US Navy Archives
Many Navy seamen and shipyard workers were exposed to asbestos while at sea and while working in shipyards. Literally tons of asbestos were used in the construction of US Navy ship. Understanding where and how these asbestos products were utilized is essential to defending these cases.
Throughout the years, we have obtained thousand of records from the US Naval Archives that contain important information about the US Navy’s use of asbestos. We also have collected hundreds of thousands of pages of documents about the asbestos exposure of naval seamen and ship yard workers on specific ships. We now have one of the most extensive collections of Navy records outside of those held by the US government. We use this valuable resource to successfully handle asbestos cases on behalf of these Navy veterans.
